George Gissing (1880-1903) was a prolific Victorian novelist best known for his novels New Grub Street and The Odd Women. I read all of his novels when I was in university (thought about writing about them alongside those of Thomas Hardy, but then came to my senses and stuck with just Hardy).

A number of his novels are here on Librivox, but not all.

There are far too many and they're too long for me to tackle. When I was first getting started here, I enthusiastically gathered links to all of his unrecorded novels. Since then, I've tackled a couple of solos and lots of group recordings, and realized that I don't really want to tackle books of this length right now. If any of these are picked up, I'll probably contribute chapters.
