This project is complete! All audio files are available on our catalog page:
https://librivox.org/the-red-badge-of-courage-by-stephen-crane-2/

I grew up in Civil War country, have been to several re-enactments, visited many battlefields, and have an extensive collection of non-fiction on the subject. Not to mention seven other LV solos on the Civil War!

This book is another classic I missed during my education. Time to catch it up!

The Red Badge of Courage, by Stephen Crane (1871 - 1900)
A youth experiences the Civil War in the Union Army (full summary will be substituted later) (Summary by Mark Smith)
Source text (please read only from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/463

Target completion date: 2023-04-30

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hi, Mark, I'll set this up for you. (I assume you're OK with not having the only version in the catalog!)

I honestly can't remember if I read this one either.

edited: OK, all set! I'll move this over to Solos in a day or two after prospective PL'ers have had a chance to see it in the LP.

Yes Kevin, of course!

Hi Laurie! Good to work with you again!
I know there are two copies in the files, but I choose more based on books I missed while growing up than what is in the catalog. I had thought I'd read Red Badge before, but a look at Chapter 1 rang no bells, so I could be thinking of All Quiet on the Western Front, which is similar but WWI.

I expected to do the first chapter today... Discovered my very old tablet, which I read from, was discharged, so probably tomorrow.

Very nicely done! Just one thing to address. Please end with "End of chapter one."
