In case someone wants to dig for treasure or just really stumped for something to read, you can check out this book. The Publishers' Trade Annual of 1898 seems to list most (all?) of the books on offer that year. With some 1400+ pages, there is plenty to keep you busy

Edit: Conveniently, you can also search within it if you are looking for more books by a specific author.

2nd edit: I also found the Publishers' Trade Annual of 1904 is also available here: https://www.google.com/books/edition/The_Publishers_Trade_List_Annual/ADnQAAAAMAAJ?hl=en&gbpv=0
