The corrections you did were completely seamless, but I hate to mention....... you mentioned the '3' errors in the 5 minute mark, well actually there were 4. You missed:

5:54.5 Say, Henry, what was the name of the restaurant in New York we went to after we saw that funny show You said the. I think this makes enough of a difference to correct it.

Well read, again. You did make just one mistake that I think you should look at:

17:00 of the last time she had talked with a manager. You said the. It kind of makes a difference.

Now your numbers are 89.0 on the volume and 30.9 on the background noise. Very acceptable.

The 'Background noise' number is the bottom line on the screen in Checker.

Interesting story. Luckily I am happily married and have be for almost (next month) 53 years.

Good reading, and found only one thing that I think you might want to look at:

5:38 He was swept along on the tide of prosperity with his patron and he scoffed at poor things and poor people, You said as. Minor difference, but probably worth correcting. It give a slightly different meaning to the latter part of the sentence.

Also, your volume is in the low end of the LV range at 87.7. Since you are going to be in anyway, could you see if you could raise it closer to 89. And after doing that, you might want to check you Background Noise level, as that usually comes up some when you increase the volume of the recording.

I was just getting read to PL this, and found out I have to quit, and I probably won't get a chance to do it until Tuesday . But looking at your file name, it isn't quite correct. Could you correct it by adding '128' in front of the mp3

Hi Wayne,

Typically, I don't ask for filename corrections unless there are other corrections needed for a PLOK. What I've found is that MC's are usually agreeable to correcting filenames at time of cataloging.

Maybe Jo feels differently about that; I haven't asked.

My past practice - based on what an MC told me on my first project as a BC - has been to wait until PL; if PLOK I include a note asking MC to kindly correct the filename. If, instead, there are PL notes, I have waited for revision upload and then I enter the note saying that the version with bad filename can be safely removed from the folder in which it was placed.

But, I'm flexible. If Jo thinks it a better idea to do an upload ahead of PL, I can go with the flow.

If you don't see noise level on Checker's Information Screen it's because the Background Noise validation method is not enabled in your Checker (I don't think it is enabled by default when you install Checker).

You can enable the Background Noise method as follows:

• With Checker open, click on "Validation -> Choose Validation Methods ... "

• then click on the checkbox called "Background Noise"

• then click on the action button called "Change".

After that you will see noise level for the recordings that you check using Checker.
