Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Andersen (1805 - 1875)

This project can now be found in our catalog at https://librivox.org/fairy-tales-by-hans-christian-andersen/
This collection of fairy tales include many that you may never have heard of. Published in 1884, Andersen obviously enjoyed putting many unique stories in it that he found fun to tell and listen to but which may not have been known to his growing audience of children and people. The short life of Hans Christian Anderson that starts the book, will be included in this recording even though it was written by the editor and not by Anderson. (Summary by phil chenevert)

Could I have 16 The Ugly Duckling, please. It was one of my favorites growing up.

Thanks,

I'll probably add some others after looking at them.

May I please read Thumbelina? For some reason the website with the story had a connection saying it's not safe. I have a hard copy of the Hans Christian Andersen book with Thumbelina though. Would that work?

Thank you!

Sure you can have Thumbelina. The site is Internet Archive. Does your browser give any reason why it would not be safe? Please don't use your hard copy to read from; t here are so many variations of these and other stories it might not be the same. I will send you the text to compare before we do that, OK?

Hi Greenbean and a big welcome to LibriVox! :D I have assigned that section to you but before you record it, please make and upload a 1 minute test to be sure your recording set up is OK. I see you have submitted your test already which is great.

Oh and Maria, our LibriVox pickle, can hardly contain her excitement Image

I also recommend Getting To Know our Forums Getting To Know Our Forums

We just want to check out your technical specs. Don't forget to post the link either in this thread or in our Post Your 1-Minute Test Recording Here forum.

And how would you like to be credited in our catalog? What name? most of us use our real name but it is up to you. This can be the same as your forum name, or anything else. This might be what you say at the start "read by ......" so people will be able to find your recordings.
