The electrical updates are complete, so I’m ready to start recording again! I’ll complete one recording this weekend.

Section 12 is posted.

Where can I find the PL notes for the other sections?

It looks like they're on the second page of this thread. Read through the posts, and you should find them. :)

Thanks, I see them now and will get started on those edits.

Number of poems per section is your choice.

I did a quick peek at section 2, and you used the full intro. For the 2nd and subsequent sections, you can use the shorter one:

"Section [number] of Fine Clothes to the Jew, by Langston Hughes. This LibriVox recording is in the public domain. [Poem title]"

That would perhaps make the intro less tiring for a listener, if you choose not to bundle some poems together.

PaulWelford wrote: October 17th, 2023, 2:54 am Hi there
I just realised you had a heap of sections for PL. Sorry. Working thru them now.

They are all great readings.

Sections 0 -2 are all PL OK.

Section 3, Misery, has an extra "done" included at 0:44. It's pretty minor as you say it so fast it hardly affects the rhythm but I thought I'd let you know in case you want to correct it.

Also - a suggestion, these sections are extremely short, I think too short as the standard LV stuff at start and end takes up a disproportionate amount of time compared to the poems. I'd suggest merging them into one or a few sections instead.

Paul
I just fixed section 3 by removing the extra "done". (12-8-23)

- I only heard the word "done" once. At 0:54, I said ".. that done me wrong". My midwestern accent/drawl might have made "that" and "done" sound like the same word, lol.

Should I articulate that section to make both words stand out?

I didn't hear an extra word, but I said the word "eight" with a hard-T that might be misinterpreted as an extra word.

Anyway, I removed the hard-T sound. ~ 12-8-23

I hear ‘that’ clearly already. To me it sounds like:

‘Shall I carve myself, or that man that done done me wrong?’

But if you disagree I’m not going to make a big deal. As with the other one it’s fairly minor and quickly said so doesn’t disturb the rhythm.

I’m afraid it’s still there but it’s so minor we’re can ignore it.

Just a quick tip/request, when you edit a file after PL so that it’s ready for second review, you’re supposed to change the status in the MW from See PL notes to Ready for Spot PL. This is especially important for readers like you that don’t include a link to the file when you post that it’s ready.
