Target completion date: 2023-03-31

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I can set this up for you. I see in looking at the text that there is an introduction and 15 chapters, so I am assuming, unless one chapter is very long and you'll be splitting it, that you'll be reading the introduction. If you like, I can set up the MW with a section 0 for the introduction, so that chapter 1 still lines up with section 1, 2 with 2, etc. Let me know if you would like this, or if you would rather start with section 1.

(See the MW here if my question was confusing: viewtopic.php?t=95879)

I have set up your MW. For now, the sections go from 1-16. But if you decide you'd like a section 0 after all, that is easy for me to change behind the scenes, even after the MW is filled in, so just let me know.

Also, if you are looking for a DPL, remember that you can add a tilde (~) to the subject line of your first post to indicate that. This will help potential DPLs find your project.

Thanks, felix! Yes, I will take you up on your idea for section 0, the introduction. I will also edit the title to indicate that I am searching for a DPL.

I would be happy to DPL if you would like! I've always wanted to read Thomas Malory but never got around to it, so this is a great motivator!

Thanks,
Patrick

Looking forward to it, thanks! In addition to listening for the standard PL criteria, I usually follow along with the text, so I can also note if any variant readings occur. Just let me know how close a reading you find helpful! :D

Cheers!

Ok. I've added in Patrick as the DPL and changed the first section number to 0.

I recommend that you fill in the section titles of your MW before going much further. I've done the first few as an example. This isn't really crucial for a solo, so I won't insist on this, but I do think it is very helpful for all involved to get that framework laid out at the start.

Also, as a reminder, it is your responsibility to update the MW with links and run times as you complete sections, changing the status of each section as needed. I see that you have done one solo already, so I am assuming that you know how to do this, but let me know if you need a refresher! When we are all set, I'll move you to Going Solo.

Introduction - 20:48
Introduction is PL ok! When you add the file and the duration to the MW you can also update the the PL status!

Two optional notes:

-- the ending silence is only 4.52, a little short of the standard five seconds.

-- at 13:27 there is an abrupt "skip" at the word "Manuscripts" -- you don't need to change it, but it seems like it might be an easy fix if you want to.

Cheers!

Thanks Felix. I would be happy to make those updates, but while I have done a solo project before, I can't seem to remember how to update the MW (I do not have permissions to use the BC Admin link beneath it).

Here is a page walking you through it, both how to log in and then how to update things: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Soloists:_How_to_update_the_Magic_Window

I just confirmed that you have indeed been entered in to the workflow as the BC, so you should have access. If it's saying you don't, then you must not be logged in. If you've been using the uploader with the generic name and password given to everyone, then the system doesn't know you're you. The best thing to do is log out and then log in again using your forum name. And remember that the workflow is a different system than the forum, so while your user name will be the same, your password may or may not be, depending on how you set it up originally. If needed, you can always reset that password. The link I gave you above explains how to do this in the section titled "Accessing the System – First Time Login."

Try that, and if you are still running into problems, I'll see what else we can do to get you in.
