Freedom, Truth and Beauty, by Edward Doyle (1854 - )

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/freedom-truth-and-beauty-by-edward-doyle/

A collection of sonnets that celebrates patriotism and nationalism loosely arranged in a chronological order based on world conflicts. While many of the pieces evoke a sincerity for the sacrifices made by those who participated in the conflicts, several speak to the seemingly unexplainable behavior of world leaders of the time. (Summary by KHand)

Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Perfect! It looks like a lot, but most of the poems are short.

Thank you! I'm excited for this project!

Hey, really good reading Kristin! I like your voice a lot!

Just a couple tiny things with the first section, and honestly they are both optional and up to you on if you'd want to edit them:
PL notes:

For both sections: @0:01 For both The intro begins with the title of the section, rather than the book title. Did you want it to start off with "Freedom, Truth and Beauty by E.Doyle?" EDIT: I'm actually going to guess this is because it's poetry, and much shorter sections? If so, were all good here

Section 1: @0:51 The text says, "Valor's Daughters—crowns that charm" you said "claim." - Again totally optional, I put it there since I felt it changes the meaning of the text, and since it is a poem later on charm would rhyme with the word "harm." Up to you

And that's all! You did absolutely amazing! :D

I did opt for the poetry intro/outro - especially since some of these are not much longer than the "normal" one, so I changed section 2 to OK.

Corrections for section 1 have been uploaded.

ETA: Also uploaded sections 3-5.

Sounds good! I haven't PL'ed much poetry before and kind of forgot about the different intro

Section 1 is PL OK!

Lynne, Do I need an intro for Section 1 that includes the book title? Elijah's got me double guessing my set up. LOL

Yes, for the first section only, include the title and author. And again in the end outro.
