[Old thread] Dramatic Readings of The Hardy Boys
I have first edition scans and PG clearances for
The Missing Chums
Hunting for Hidden Gold
The Shore Road Mystery
I will be posting these to archive org on January 1st, 2024. You cannot work on these onsite before then. If anyone is interested in working on these in advance offsite PM me. These will eventually end up at Gutenberg. I think someone else will be doing The Missing Chums.

Excellent! Thanks again, Greg!
I shall patiently wait for the Gutenberg editions, but January 1 is a new kind of holiday now!

I have the launch marked on my calendar Saturday.redrun wrote: ↑October 1st, 2023, 7:16 amAbsolutely! The plan is to launch on Saturday, October 7 - and you'll have until sometime on Tuesday the 10th to post in-thread to confirm.
More details on the launch plan over in DR Suggestions thread: viewtopic.php?p=2246389#p2246389
Great job on these projects! I grew up reading the Hardy Boys before graduating to Sherlock Holmes! Of course, back in those pre-teen days, I imagined myself as Frank Hardy, not his father!
Take care,
Greg
Super cool that we can already get into book 3!

Fancy some fun character recording? Small parts needed in these dramatic novels: Clouds of Witness | Ivanhoe (DR)

And, book 3 is now open for claims!

I've certainly not forgotten anyone! I'm updating the first post with a vague timeline, but here's what I'm thinking in more detail.
Pacing: Book 4 won't launch for a while. Rough estimate: sometime this summer (for us northerners, that is).
I'm going to finish book 2, then start right into narrating and editing book 3!
I have a bit more to do in my LV time than when we started off on these, and I'd rather have shorter projects (because they won't each have to wait so much on me) than have 2 projects going at all times to keep up with their release to the public domain. If we do enough of these, we'll get to the 1-a-year releases, and they'll all feel like they finish in no time.
Reprising Roles: I'll be ecstatic to have everyone back, but I don't feel I should do another reservation the next time around.
I am very happy that folks are excited to come back and work on the next books! I couldn't imagine a better "cast" than we've lucked into, and I'd definitely love to have you return as the same characters again!
Having a 3-day reservation on book 3 seemed like a good way to honor your enthusiasm and the time you put in on these roles as we were starting out, but I should also make sure other folks have a chance. So for book 4, you are more than welcome to claim your roles again when it does launch, but it will be first-come, first-served, and everyone should understand that all roles are "fair game". I will be posting to the proper place so anyone interested will know when we launch. Speaking of which...
The Thread: My updates will go here in future
Thanks to LCaulkins, we now have a perfect home for this series of projects in the Dramatic Reading Novels In Preparation thread. I'll be posting more... concise... updates over there as I get a clearer time estimate, and then as I prepare to launch.
