Hi friends!

I just joined LibriVox so forgive any obvious questions! Would it be possible to claim this entire book and do it as a solo reader?

Thanks for any insights!

Hello, and welcome to Librivox!

Generally if you want to do a solo, you would pick a book and set it up for yourself. This project is *really* long for a first solo, so it would not be recommended. There is however no problem with claiming multiple sections in a group project (although it's not generally encouraged to claim an entire project at once if it's a group project, you could claim 1 or 2 sections, complete those and then come back and claim more).

If you decide you want to do something solo, you will hear that it is always recommended to do a few sections in group projects first, just to ensure you know what's involved. The time for editing a section is actually longer than it takes to record, in many cases - so getting a feel for the full process before you jump into a solo is recommended.

Your first step in any event should be to head over to "1-minutes tests" and record your test. It's not "test" per se, but a chance to make sure you have all the technical settings sorted out, so your first recording is off to a strong start.

So, all that said - I would be happy to have you claim a couple of sections here once your 1-minute test is approved.

I have yet to post my 1 minute test, so I know I should do that before I record anything for this (I plan on submitting that this evening) but I would love to claim chapter 2 if you're okay with that!

Happy to have you! I've reserved that for you. How would you like your name listed in the catalog? It can be your forum name, your real name, or anything you like.
