And now for something completely different (and do let me know if this belongs in a different collection, but they ARE poetry of a sort):

"Nursery Rhymes II" by Unknown
URL: https://gutenberg.org/cache/epub/24117/pg24117-images.html#NURSERY_RHYMES
Duration: 1:34
MP3 URL: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/spc235_nurseryrhymes2_sds_128kb.mp3

I'll watch for PL notes, as usual.

Thanks,
Stephanie

I asked my librarian about the noise, and she said, "no one would come here
if they weren't allowed to talk out loud." So I read out loud.

Thank you Algy Pug and Czandra for your PL OK recordings!

Czandra, that was an unusual text source. As a scrap-book, it doesn't have a publication date, but I managed to find the poems in their actual publication:

the voices of the winds: https://www.canadiana.ca/view/oocihm.8_05016_90/5

in the bay: https://www.canadiana.ca/view/oocihm.8_04597_1/36

I don't know if that means that Blanche Bishop is not the author of the voices of the winds. The name is suspiciously cut out in the scrapbook. Maybe you know who BeBe is? Does it stand for Blanch Bishop?

Wow, Rap that's good research. I'm thinking this summer I might visit the Acadia U archive personally. The scrapbook has "BB" under the poem, and I made the leap that it's Blanche Bishop. Elsewhere she's referred to that way, without the Minnie part. If in doubt, you can drop that poem.

Trying to get more Canadiana into LV.

No need to drop the poem because it's definitely public domain, I was just wondering wether to link the poem to Blanche Bishop, or Anonymous. I'll leave it to Blanche Bishop, I'm sure the scrap book people have done their research. They were in university after all :D

the surmise I read was that the books were pasted together by her daughter. University is no guarantee! But it does usually support people who want to preserve heritage of one kind or another...

Cloudland Bay by Minnie Blanche Bishop (see above)

Here's a third and last. In the signature, someone has crossed out the M for Minnie, and inserted "B". P. 12
