Thank you!

I'll go ahead and correct the file name. Its correct format is stateoftheunion19461953_06_truman_128kb

--Checker specs okay, but in the beginning, sound quality has an edge to it as if the volume is too high, even though it does pass Checker specs
--6:33 – letter “b” from (b) Food Subsidies” dropped
--7:22 and other moments “subsidies” in this Food Subsidies portion is mispronounced as if spelled “substidies” throughout this section (b)
--34:51 – written: “call to action” spoken: “call to attention”; might not really be a problem except that it is a direct follow up to “decisive action”, a clear reference in the previous paragraph.
--40:35 – “again “substidies” instead of “subsidies”

Overall this is an excellent reading! - Betsy

I like the way you handle tables Kevin

20:45 successful
20:55 success
27:15 successful
34:30 66,000 should be 67,000

otherwise good to go.
Corrections, though it's very difficult to match the tone of what was previously recorded. I tried my best.

00:39 Section title (2. Aftermath of war) is missing

03:17 success (usual pronunciation issue)

06:20 accessory (similar pronunciation issue to success)

06:51 succeeding (usual pronunciation issue)

07:39 677 million should be 676 million

12:23 300 million should be 3 million

36:40 30 million should be 3 million
Apologies for these rough edits. It's the best I can do at this time.

Hi Kevin - since I did the initial PL of section 2, I went ahead and checked your corrections. All of the details that I specified were corrected. However you've stumbled again turning the word "subsidies" to "substidies" at 6:37. Otherwise, section 2 is good. Since I am not DPL, I could not adjust the status in the MW. - Betsy

Thanks Cruxer

Very clearly read. I'm afraid a few issues.

There were 8 deviations which did not alter meaning at all so I won't list them.

7 others seemed worth mentioning, 2 of which are definitely significant (marked with an asterisk below).

6:50 I heard "wealth" but it is written "health"

10:13 I heard "dose" and indeed that is what is written but I think what he probably said was "close". If I'm right, it's very easy to see how this occurred as it's a classic transcription typo. @Kevin do you know if this is correct and if so, the Librivox policy? Should it be left as the Gutenberg text or as the original?

*17:32 - There is a whole sentence missing "I recommend ..... 75 cents"

18:20 I heard "should" result but it is written "would" result - seems minor but a reasonably important meaning issue arises

22:12 I hear "other" countries but this word is not present in the text - pretty minor and debatable so feel free to ignore if you wish

*24:16 - 24:33 a whole sentence is repeated incorrectly "I want to ....."

29:50 there is a roughly 5 second gap between sentences which would be improved by being reduced.

Okay I will fix these problems at some point this weekend. Thanks for finding them!

Hi Kevin - still hoping to give a thumbs-up PL on that last correction. Thought maybe you've been distracted by other details... - Betsy

Thank you for the reminder.

Here is the last correction: https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/stateoftheunion19461953_02_truman_128kb.mp3 (53:01)

I hope I've made it clear enough. I'm still struggling with bad habits.

I'm so sorry, Kevin, but the mispronunciation is still there at 6:37. Spoken "substidies" should be "subsidies". Drop that "t" if you can and it'll be fine! - Betsy

Tricia came to my rescue and made the correction through some kind of editing magic. I'll mark the section as PL OK!

Thank you very much, Betty!
