Also, I'm claiming Part 1.
My goal is to do the boring bits at the start so the funny bits are left for other readers.

Hi TimothyTimothy Ferguson wrote: ↑November 6th, 2022, 8:41 am Hi, the preface:
https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/galateo_00_dellacasa_128kb.mp3
10:53
at page XI, at 4:02
"in some places what, perhaps, may be though" --> "perhaps" is missing;
at page XV, at 6:15
"with so bold and ostentatious an air" but you say "with so bold and so ostentatious an air". This won't change the meaning, so it's up to you if you want to correct it or not
at page XXI, at 9:26
"public school, comes into a coffee -house" but you say "public school, enters a coffee -house". Also this one won't change the meaning. Let me know if you'll correct it.

The introduction is now up.

I can see I seriously overestimated the size of the pages when I cut this into sections. The original must have been a tiny little pocketbook.

It's just that you perfectly understood that the "young nobleman" to wich Giovanni della Casa was teaching good manners, would be bored with longer sessions.Timothy Ferguson wrote: ↑November 7th, 2022, 7:57 am I can see I seriously overestimated the size of the pages when I cut this into sections. You need to keep up the young boy attention!!!

This is such a hoot!
We need a few more comments to push it higher on the Readers Wanted page.
I'd love to please claim
LV Section 3, Giovanni's Section 2, Part 1: from start of page 27 until the heading "Conversation" on page 48
and
LV Section 4, Giovanni's Section 2, Part 2: from the heading "Conversation" on page 48 to the end of page 73
It may be a bit of a challenge to read without giggling, but I want to give it a try.
best,
Owlivia/Deborah
P.S. I wonder if some folks are put off because of the old style S's on the text?

I read something in XVIth century Italian with the same problem and it was nerve-racking to understand when it was an "s" and when an "f"

Not to be pushy, but I don't see the sections assigned to me that I requested.
Section 3 (Giovanni's Section 2, Part 1)
and
Section 4 (Giovanni's Section 2, Part 2).
best (or, as Giovanni's typesetter would say: beft)

Sorry for the delay: family drama. Thank you for claiming theses sections.

Please don't forget to add the runtime of the files to the "Notes" field. I'll need that during cataloging. Thanks.
Cheers, Ava.
