Well, I can give you one tip: in Checker, there are two tabs. The one that it defaults to is "Validation" and the other one is "Information." On the information tab, it will tell you how loud your files are!

I use TwistedWave instead of Audacity, so I'm not much help there...but if I can, I'll see what I can find.

Ah, here's the YouTube video I was remembering. Well, to be honest, I was just remembering Phil's signature, because I hadn't watched it yet.

Hope this helps!

Evenin! I did lose steam for a bit, but with the end of the semester coming up I have more time for recording. I worked on section 3 today but it's still a ways away from being ready, that chapter is a beast. I did finally make those changes to the recordings of sections 1 & 2, except for the second PL recommendation for section 1. The new sound bites are uploaded to the magic window and are ready for spot checks.

Hey, team,
I’m still around. It’ll take me a couple of days, but I plan to do those spot PLs.
Thanks,
Stephanie

Sections 1 and 2 can be marked as PL okay--thanks!

Evenin! I’m sorry. I thought I would have more quiet time in the house than I have. The way it’s going now the best way I can record is only for a couple hours a night and ultimately that would compromise the smoothness of the listening experience on top of taking an eternity. Perhaps the best thing is to put this project back on the “up for grabs” forum. Recording a book by yourself is definitely a big undertaking, and I’ll keep that in mind next time.

Thank y’all for your help!

That's all understandable! I will put this "up for grabs", and your recordings may eventually be used, so your work here will not have been in vain.

Take care and I hope to hear your voice again when circumstances allow!

Of course! I'll go set it up for you. Then we'll stay in the Launch Pad for a bit, in case we catch a DPL :D

I can DPL it if you like--I was already doing PL work on it before.

How much constructive criticism do you want?

Hi Claire! I've signed you up for the rest of the sections, and you also have access to the first post, in case you'd like to change the summary for example, or add keywords, etc.

You also have access to the Magic Window. Here's the guide on the Magic Window if needed: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Soloists:_How_to_update_the_Magic_Window
Ask if anything is unclear.

You may need to split chapters if they feel too long to be in one section. You can do that as you go along, and add sections.

That would be awesome, thank you! I'm open to any constructive feedback you'd like to provide, but nothing super special I can think of.
Cheers,
Claire
