Sure! Just please wait to record them until your test is checked over, so that you can fix any settings/levels first before recording "for real". 8-)

How would you like to be credited in the catalog? There are places for a catalog name (some use a nickname or forum name, some their real name) and a link to a personal web site or blog, if you have one. I recommend using whatever name you say (if any) when you say, "recorded by [your name]" as that's how listeners will look for you. (Keep in mind that prospective employers, classmates, enemies, etc. can also find you using the catalog name, so be cautious if privacy might be an issue.)

Sure!

Please do finish the 1-minute test before starting to record this. That way all your tech settings are OK before recording "for real." :)

Thanks,

Sounds good! I just resubmitted my test with some changes, I'll record as soon as I hear feedback and ensure everything is good to go :)
I'd like to be credited as Clarisse Marie in the catalog. Thank you!

Great!

Here's your catalog page: https://librivox.org/reader/17522
You can keep track of your assigned sections there. (Click on Reader section details to see each section.)

To get to this link yourself, use your name in any Magic Window in which you have an assigned section. Click on your name link. ;)

Thanks! Both are nicely read.

Section 6:

Volume's too low; needs to come up about 9 dB.

From about 3:57 to the end the background noise gets louder. The whole thing could use some light noise reduction, but this part needs either more noise reduction or a re-record. (This will also get louder if you amplify the recording.)

Section 24:

Needs to amplify about 7 dB and could use some light noise reduction.

---

(One bit of advice on amplifying so much: the recordings won't let you go that far because it'll cause clipping on some of your higher wave forms. So first select the entire track and do Effect/Limiter, set the limit to -9 and -7 respectively. This will shrink down those higher peaks so that you can amplify by the required amount.)

There's a small program the spouse of a LibriVoxer developed to check the tech settings. If you're game, you can download it and use it to check the volume and other settings. It's here: https://cgjennings.ca/projects/checker/
The volume information is in the Information tab. We aim for 89 dB, but anything between about 86 and 92 is good.
