I searched a bit on archive.org and found the same story in this older book (from 1789) which can be used. If you can read from this text, we're good :) https://archive.org/details/decameronedimes01villgoog/page/n176/mode/2up
Dear Kitty,

unfortunately the source you indicated was too difficult for me to read because almost all the "s" was written as "f" and it confused me a lot! :( I hope that the alternative source I have individuated is equally valid.

Waiting to hear your suggestions and Kazbek's ones, I hope you enjoy my reading :D

Thank you, Bernd! There's no place to add the translator in a collection, so I added his name to the keywords.

Greetings!

thank you, Giulia, yes this source is also ok, because it was published before 1926. There are lots of sources on archive, I only chose one at random, sorry that I chose I bad script. :?

The story is very sad and tragic :( but you read it very engagingly, I enjoyed it. The pacing is also very nice and not too fast to follow along.

There are only two small bits to edit, nothing difficult, so no need to re-record everything:

> at 0:06: for this multilingual project we always need to include the language into the intro, could you please add "letto in Italiano" at this spot

> at 9:42: (p. 193) repetition: "Guiscardo, la mia benignità verso te non avea meritato l'oltraggio, e la vergogna, la quale nelle mie cose fatta m'hai" – can be cut once

Just reupload with the same filename and I can do a spot PL. :)

So this is a very good start and I hope to hear plenty more of you soon. And maybe you want to take one of the two remaining roles in the Orlando play after all ? I remember we talked about it a while ago. ;)

Thanks

oh nein !!!!

Absolut PL ok, vielen Dank Bernd !

Dear Kitty,

Thank you very much for your suggestions! I will adjust the recording as requested and repost it as soon as I can :)

And maybe I could think about reading that parts in Orlando, but at the moment I'm not sure that my voice is the best choice for a charachter like Sacripante... :hmm:

oh but Sacripante is already taken, the only two roles available at the moment are Atlante and Brunello. I'm not sure but maybe Atlante is a woman ? :hmm: I don't know the play that well. You best ask in that thread.

You're right, sorry, I misunderstood which parts are already taken and which are not!
Anyway, both Brunello and Atlante are male charachters (Atlante is even a very old man!), so I'm not sure to be the most eligible reader for these parts... :hmm:

oh ok, sounded female to me  well, you can ask if you wish, I know most of the plays are gender neutral here, but it's your decision whether you want to cross-dress or not. I personally love playing old men sometimes. I had a funny role of an old man in a Molière play once. And a few times an old doctor, which is always funny to do as well.

But there's no rush, I'm sure Pier will propose other stage plays after this one, if you prefer to wait.

Hi Giulia,

I've actually been thinking of giving up the role of Sacripante. I haven't been able to record in awhile, and my claim is overdue. I was holding on to it only because the two smaller male roles haven't been taken yet. I would recommend checking with the BC of the project (Pier) if these roles are gender-neutral. If they are, I'd be happy to hand over Sacripante to you.

I will launch another volume of Italian poetry anthology as soon as I find some time in my currently very hectic schedule.

I hope that the file is correct now :)
If it's not, please let me know: I will correct it right away, before thinking about the next project I want to collaborate with (...maybe the Orlando one, who knows? 8-) )
Meanwhile, I thank you again for your patience and kind help! :D

the corrections are well made, but for some reason now your volume has exceeded our accepted limits (86-92 dB) it's over 95 dB  what happened ?

Could you please reupload one more time, after decreasing the volume with -5 please ? That should be enough to put it near the perfect average of 89 dB.

Do you have the Checker program ? It shows you the volume of your finished mp3 file and you can check it before you upload. http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker

Thank you, nearly there...

brava ! now it's PL ok. Congratulations to your first official LV contribution. :birthday:

Don't worry about the volume, this can happen sometimes. The Checker is really great to help you there, to see how high or low your volume is. I use it on all my recordings before I upload anything.

Now have fun with whatever you choose next.
