Actually, never mind my previous post. I got bored this morning and added them to the second post, including the ones in progress as well.Rapunzelina wrote: ↑November 19th, 2022, 6:35 amIf you'd still like to keep the "completed" titles, you can use your second post in the thread to add those viewtopic.php?p=1977687#p1977687flavo5000 wrote: ↑November 18th, 2022, 9:15 pm Well, the problem is that I've hit the max length of the first post, and there are actually other collections I'd like to add. So unless I remove them as they're recorded, I won't be able to add them without creating another thread (and we already have 3 weird fiction threads as it is. I wouldn't want to confuse people even more.)
It does make for more work, but it serves well if you want to keep the lists as historical records of what's been done since the first post. Just a thought!

How do I claim "Sun" by D.H. Lawrence? Does someone need to create a page for it first? I'm still a relatively new reader here.
Harriet Beecher Stowe
Oldtown Fireside Stories (1873) [56,396 word count]

I noticed this on the list. I recorded it years ago, in 2015.

That one is short enough that you should be able to just record it for the short ghost and horror collection here: viewtopic.php?t=95590CornyDweeb wrote: ↑December 17th, 2022, 11:31 am How do I claim "Sun" by D.H. You don't have to claim it. Just record it and the follow the instructions in the first post of that thread to upload it.
Yep, I'll remove it from the list. I think the "Sam Lawson's" at the front of the Librivox collection threw me off.msfry wrote: ↑December 17th, 2022, 11:40 am Harriet Beecher Stowe

Sure, you can launch whatever you want! That's what they're here for.
As far as whether you have enough experience to BC a group project, that's more up to you. There's a handy-dandy FAQ with lots of tips that should help you decide:

Yeah I've read all that stuff and I still don't really know what to think but thank you anyway, good to know these are good to use because I think a short story collection is a good place to startflavo5000 wrote: ↑January 28th, 2023, 6:36 am Sure, you can launch whatever you want! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! Just post in this thread.
A couple of things to call out before posting it though:
1. For the title, it should just be <Title of Book>, by <Author>. What you have there now should basically be the title of the new topic with the ~[GROUP] at the front.
2. The filename should be shortened considerably. I'd suggest just having it as "momentafter_##_buchanan_128kb.mp3".
3. The current link to the text is linking to somewhere in the middle of chapter 2. I would just shorten it to this: https://archive.org/details/the-moment-after-a-tale-of-the-unseen
Hi April. Just offering this in case someone gets the idea that posting in this or other threads is way to launch a project. It isn't.
TO LAUNCH A NEW PROJECT, do your homework so you can answer the questions asked by the Template Generator, hit Next, copy the generic text generated, then go to the Board Index near the top of any forum page, look for the New Projects Launch Pad, click, hit New Topic, paste in what you copied, then make adjustments as necessary so it fits your particular project. Preview until you're satisfied, then hit Submit. Then the hardest part . . . . wait for an MC to come along and adopt your project.

Thank you. I have launched new projects in the past. It seems as though the knowledge must just escape me, bothersome it is. I will most certainly "refresh" my mind, follow the steps and try again.msfry wrote: ↑March 15th, 2023, 10:59 am Hi April. I've added a bunch of new story collections to the first post!
I have just finished the word counts on this project, which I see in your list, and will launch it shortly as a group project.
