Drumroll, please...

I managed to get back to recording this book within a year from my last time (in early February of 2022)! A quiet house tonight turned out several short chapters, and I got the longest edited for a start. What a relief to get back to this!

Thanks! I'm hoping my voice/style hasn't changed too much in 11+ months for those who listen straight through the book. I did re-listen to the previous chapter to try to at least match the main characters.

Chapters 28-29 ready for PL. I must have cut out more than I kept while editing that intensely Scotch chapter 28! But next I'm on to more English for a while.

Well, chapter 29 took me awhile to get to. Maybe because I knew I would cry through the whole thing, and I did! But it is PL ok and very well done.

Sorry that was such a hard one to listen to! It is a relief to be past that grief in the book but also feels like... what's left to keep reading for? But we know better!

I have one more chapter recorded so far (way back in March) to edit. Since then a health set-back hasn't been allowing me to read aloud. But I hope to get enough strength back soon to finish off the book. [Whenever the carpenters aren't pounding, wind howling, or tractors growling nearby!]

It's good to be able to catch up with Gordon again! I just noticed one minor thing. Up to you if it makes enough difference to bother with correcting.

2:28 OPTIONAL There is a minor added word slipped in that changes the meaning just slightly. Text reads: "The officers of his mess were mostly men of character with ideas better at least than ordinary as to what became a man." I hear: "...as to what became of a man."
