Here's my test file: https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test_olivialo.mp3

I used Audacity on Windows without any mics (I just spoke into my laptop).

Please give me some feedback. Much appreciated!!

Hi Olivia

I reviewed your test sample and some changes are needed. LibriVox requires audio that is 128kb constant bit rate, mono, and between 86db and 92db, preferably 89-90. Your sample's volume is a bit too low at 84.8db. There is also a bit too much overall background noise, plus other sounds (bangs, dogs barking?).

Before exporting your MP3, select the entire file, select effects>amplify, and increase by +5db.

You can verify your audio yourself by downloading the free Checker app: https://cgjennings.ca/projects/checker/

Reduce the background noise by 5 to 10db using Audacity noise removal. A video tutorial on Audacity noise removal is available here: https://youtu.be/rvhqw7zBmEo

Also, try to fond a quieter place/time to record.

Please record a new test with the same file name and post it as a reply. I’ll return and review it for you.
