[COMPLETE] The Great White North - tg
Kevin - Here is section 21, aka the first part of chapter 19. I went up to the section titled "GREELY’S ABANDONMENT OF FORT CONGER" on p 385. Seemed to me a good stopping point after finishing the failure of the second rescue mission. It also appears to be roughly halfway through (maybe).

Thanks,

Kevin - is it presumptuous of me to ask for another chapter when I've only got one part of the current one in (it is read, needs editing)? I'm willing to take on the chapter on the Jeannette, section 20, I believe.

Not presumptuous at all. I'll sign you up!mleigh wrote: ↑June 1st, 2021, 2:21 pm Kevin - Here is section 21, aka the first part of chapter 19. One PL note for Section 21:
At around 2:38, repetition of "resulted in the International Polar Conference"

Just one optional note for the geographic coordinates. A degree is divided into minutes (and minutes into seconds), so if you see a number like 74° 33' 15" N. one would read it as "74 degrees, 33 minutes, 15 seconds North". The way you said it still makes sense, so don't feel you have to fix, but if you do decide to edit, here are the instances in the recording:
1:03
8:24
8:28
15:45

Chapter 6, 31:21
I would also like to claim chapter 7 and 8
This was an interesting chapter. It makes me want to stay right here in Texas where food is plentiful and aside from a brief stretch in February, it's plenty warm!
Let me know if anything needs to be revised.

No hurricanes in the Arctic or tornadoes, but I guess blizzards make up for that!

Nothing needs changing. Just a heads up on two points going forward:
- filenaming; if the format calls for ##, then even single digits should be double as in greatwhitenorth_06_wright_128kb (I'll make a note in the Magic Window, for MC Tricia, and this can be fixed automatically at cataloguing)
- ending silence; be more mindful to get it around 5 seconds.

I'm close to being finished with editing section 22 and thus completing chapter 19. I hope I'll get it completed this week.
Thanks,
M
