Hello,

I recorded “I, Executioner” by Terry Carr and Ted White. I used “Carr” as the author’s last name in the file name — hope that’s correct!

Hello Jeff.

Amy needs the actual recorded length and the link to source, to be included when you post your recording.

Can you use the edit (pencil shape) to include those in your post. I will PL after you edit so it all stays together.

Thanks James.

Hi James -
Have uploaded the revised recording for TOO MANY EGGS by Kris Melville. I've redone the recording paying attention to the earlier PL comments, and also run it past the Librivox Checker program to ensure that the file meets with the technical aspects.

Do take a look and do let me know if fine.

Text Source http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/61278
Length 7:06

Kind regards,
Cyril

Cyril,

Good job, there are a couple of technical issues you need to address, and a couple of bits you need to edit

Technical
* Volume is low at 83dB should be between 86-92
* The recording should use a constant bit rate rather than variable bit rate (VBR).

See https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Newbie_Guide_to_Recording for some help, and possibly use the 1-minute test to work through technical issues.

There are a couple of bumps at 3:06 & 5:05 that need to be edited out. You may need to re-record a couple of words and copy an paste in as the sounds overlap your talking.

Here is the info Amy also needs you to include when you post your recording.

Hi James,
Your story could use some noise cleaning. Please update it when you have a chance. PL OK otherwise.
Thanks!

Thanks for your story, Jeffrey!

And as James said, we need the link to the source text, and the duration of the recording. The author's name in the filename is fine.
Thanks,
-Amy

Hi
Just realised that I had not posted the upload link for the story (post PL comments) on the forum: here it is. Trust you'll find the technical issues taken care of in this version.

Cyril, Thank you. It is PL ok now.

From your comments it seems like you might have re-recorded the entire work. In the future you can just record a sentence or two and paste it in. There is help of editing here. https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Editing_Audio

Than you Jeff,

Technical issues only.
The sampling rate should be 44.1 kHz, it is 48

You can work through this technical issue with the resources at https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=1-Minute_Test If you need to you can submit a one minute test to viewforum.php?f=21 to ensure you have all the settings correct.

Everything else is PL ok.
