Here is a new and improved chapter 3.

The good thing is that while I was looking for the cause of those pops in my last recording I found a way to improve my system so the next ones should be easier.

Good job, Nancy.

The only thing is that is a little loud and 90.7, but as that is within parameters, it is PLOK

Gerald,

Absolutely amazing. This was really a very good reading. Almost none of the problems we saw before.

The reading was great but a few small things to fix that will make it more than acceptable.

First, the volume is still quite high, 93.9. We try to keep it between 86 and 92 with a target of 89. Also there is really a lot of background noise. It would help to run it through 'Noise Reduction' if you are using Audacity or what ever you are using.

Just past :29 there is a 'poof' that you could probably just delete.

Just after the end of your reading there is a loud 'snap'.

Also you need to leave five seconds of silence after the end of your recorded words.

Get those few things fixed and it will be 'ready for Prime Time'. :D

Paul,

So sorry it took so long to get to the PLing.

Very well read and chapters 17 and 18 are, of course, PLOK

One comment, though. You have a great voice and good story telling ability, but it sounds a little like you are 'swallowing the mic'. There is the approach of over-modulation. Maybe scoot back just a tad from the mic and see if you like the sound a little better.

Keep up the good work.

chapter 11 12:53:22
Derrick (sp),

Great job making the corrections.

On one, however, you corrected the original problem, but kind of created another. :(

In the sentence: What first led you to suspect the crime and the means, Nick?
the first time there was a stumble at first led. That was corrected, but this time you left out the word 'first'. These aren't 'word perfect', and often words are left out or substituted and are let through if it really doesn't change the meaning or emphasis of the sentence, but in this case I think the word adds something to the sentence.

One other little thing that will make it easier for the PLers, when you submit a 'corrected' reading, could you please make a note in the second posting that it was 'corrected' or 're-do of Chapter _ or something that will help the PLer realize that this is the one he/she needs to Spot PL? Thanks, and keep up the good work.

Hi Wayne,

I just listened to a bit or your recording in Tom Swift, and that 'problem' wasn't there. So, maybe it was just a 'two of'.

Just to make it simple, saving time going back through all the posts, I have PLed the following Chapters and have PLOKed them all:
7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 17, 18, 20, 21. And Chapters 3 and 11 were PLed and they needed a little work and I am waiting for the corrected files. :D

No. Or at least I don't think so. When I started PLing about three weeks ago, I was told that PLers don't have access to the MW. If it is possible, I would be more than happy to do it.

Wayne

Edit: I just went in and saw that I can, so I will get right on it.

A DPL can. The MC can give them access, but not if you are just PLing a section or 2.
