ZOOM Discussion Thread

I…am sad.

I definitely want to go back and rewatch some of the meetings I’ve attended, but for me, the Zoom meetings are honestly a lot less about the agenda and a lot more about meeting the people behind the forums and the voices. We don’t seem to lack things to talk about.

It also gives us a place to get answers live.
I don’t know that this is sufficient encouragement, but that’s what the meetings give me!

When you look at the number of hours that we all put into recording books, and as a volunteer, people must have some interesting reasons for it. That might be worth a session: people saying what is driving them to record.

In my case I recorded Yorkshire Battles because I had a family farm in Leeds from about 1790 to the mid 1970s. [ nice symmetry lol]
I realized that if you took the above sentence literally then I am a vampire.

Hey everybody. Just a happy note to say that it is super easy to host a zoom session ... and it is free! Anyone of us can do it. It doesn't have to be Michele and she is asking for just a bit of support in this thing. Your ideas are great but why not do one on your own? I will show how easy it is by scheduling a Librivox zoom session for tomorrow at 11 am; that is Wednesday October 18, 11 central time.

First I open Zoom app (free and simple to put on my pc), click on Schedule meeting, and schedule it. copy the "invite'. Now I will put this invite into our LibriVox Zoom announcement thread and again in the discussion thread so everyone who has ever commented in those threads will get a notice.

Tomorrow I will be here with my smiling face to talk about .... ?? who knows?? and you can talk too.

(at least for a half hour or so since 40 minutes is the free amount of time). See y'all.

EDIT: Scheduling took me about 4 minutes.

I thought vampires stayed up all night and only slept during the day? 3 am should be just right for you.

We welcome all species to these zoom talks. Vampires (especially Black Ribboners) can come as they are. Snacks will be provided. Tomorrow at 11 am central time, Oct 18, I will have an intimate session with me, a dark elf, two gnomes, 3 humans and at least one zombie. Oh, and some Librivoxers; noone knows what they are. Y'all come.

So, can you tell how many views each Zoom meeting announcement gets? If not, I suggest making each announcement its own thread so that can be tracked. If no one even views the announcement, well, that would tell us something.

Also by putting announcements at the end of its own thread as a post, members would have to know to drill down for it. If each was its own thread, they would stand out for anyone casually poking around.

Just some random thoughts.
