Ben, welcome to LibriVox and all the fun that, as I warn all newcomers, can become more than slightly addictive.

Your reading of Chapter 8 was very good...clear voice, easy to understand, nice pace.

One slight problem, though. It's recording level was just a bit low and needs to be boosted a couple of db.

Otherwise, it is PL OK.

The audio sounds the same as the test for alxder so the comments are the same. Are you using the same recording set up?

The main issue for both is the background noise, so just work on that.
Also, leave less than one second of silence at the beginning and about five seconds at the end.

Hello!

I really hope you're doing well. Thank you for the insightful comments. We are using the same set up from the same location with alxder. I have switched to a different laptop which is much quieter and I am currently using the Sony WH1000XM3, elevated in front of me. I also applied two passes of a noise reduction filter. Hopefully this has improved the recording. I will make sure to leave less than one second of silence at the beginning as well. Thank you for assigning me and I will make sure to read the closure for the book.
