mjchannon wrote: August 8th, 2020, 1:23 pm Hi there, could I claim section 3? It's my first recording here, and I browsed over the chapter, and I am competent enough to pronounce the names, and places correctly.
What name would you like credited on your catalog page?
HI - you could use my name: Michael Channon

Thanks.

It's only one minute? A section with 5700 words should be closer to 30 minutes. Are you sure you read the whole thing, or just the summary at the beginning of the chapter?

I just saw what I needed to do. I got a bit carried away, and I am new to this, and I just saw that I had done Section 4 as well. My apologies.

In that case, could I claim Section 4 as well please, and then I can split what I have handed in and top and tail the two pieces....

That would work perfectly! Section 4 is yours! Thank you!

Don't worry about being new, we all were at one point. You will figure it out in time! :D

Ok, I am now done with Section 3 and 4.

Section 3: 39:20

https://librivox.org/uploads/icequeen/greatevents5_03_horne_128kb.mp3

Section 4: 32:12

https://librivox.org/uploads/icequeen/greatevents5_04_horne_128kb.mp3

That seems to fit with what the others have done...

I have edited them into two parts, and added the additional information to them both.

Section 3 needs a few edits.

The volume is currently at 85.9 dB. We need it to be around 89 dB, with a range of 87-92. If you could amplify by 3-4 dB, that would put it right about where we need the volume to be.

There is a stumble at 27:40-:42.

At 39:01-:09, you have the outro for the final section of the project, that needs to be edited out.

Great job for your first recording! Your reading pace is nice and smooth, and these fixes are normal things that we see on a person's first recording.

I will get section 4 listened to tomorrow.
