It's been a while since I last recorded. I tried setting up a recording system on my laptop while I was away for several months earlier this year, but found I was not able to upload and send the recording. I'm back home now, and feel as if I'm back to square 1. Can someone please listen to this little 30-second blurb and let me know if it came through (and if it sounds okay)?
Thank you so much,

Hi Laura,

You are almost there. The volume on this recording is getting close to the upper limit of our accepted range of 86-92 db. Deamplifying by -2 db will get you closer to the target of 89 db.

Of more note, there is significant background noise in this recording. If possible, try to identify the source and either temporarily turn off the source (assuming it isn't coming from the computer you are recording to) or if so try moving the mic further away. If you can't eliminate it at the source, then you can use the Noise Reduction Effect in Audacity to tone it down. Two passes using the default settings seemed to work fairly well on this test recording.
