Here's the link to my 1 minute test.

I'm using a condenser mic with Adobe Audition. The recording is not processed.

Welcome! I don't know Audition, so you'll have to work through how to make the changes delineated below. :)

Tech settings:

- The recording is in stereo; we use mono.
- Bit rate is 192kbps; it needs to be 128 constant. This is an MP3-specific setting, so it should be in your export-to-MP3 preferences somewhere.
- Volume is too low. It clocks in at 84 dB; needs to be between about 87-91 or so (89 is ideal), so it needs to come up about 5 dB.

OK, now to listen to the recording. ;)

It sounds great! No plosives and no background noise.

There's a small program the spouse of a LibriVoxer developed to check the tech settings. If you're game, you can download it and use it to check the volume and other settings. It's here: https://cgjennings.ca/projects/checker/
The volume information is in the Information tab, as are the other settings I mentioned.

Try making these adjustments, then post another test. Use the same file name as your previous one, and post in this same thread when it's ready. :)

Hi Tricia,

Here's the link to the revised recording. I made the changes in Audition. I ran it through "Checker" and it passed.

Thanks!
