Hi,

Yes I did a test. I'll be using GarageBand app.

I guess I'll use my name: Laura Braverman .

Great! Here is your catalog page! https://librivox.org/reader/14343

I would like my name to be Stella Hope. I am about to do my one minute test, I am going to try and figure out Audacity, and if not I am going to use GarageBand.

Audacity is pretty easy to use, the only thing is having to download the Lame file so that Audacity can make mp3 files. Here is your catalog page! https://librivox.org/reader/14320

Of course it is, thank you! Just make sure to do your one minute test first. We are just making sure your settings are where we need them to be, before you get into a longer section. What name would you like credited on your catalog page?

I don't see it posted in Listener's Wanted. Did you copy the link and post it there? We don't know that you have uploaded your test unless you post it in that forum in its own thread.

This is the one-minute test link:

https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/Test_Vivianlyu.mp3

OK, there are a few technical issues that need to be fixed.

The bit rate of your file is 64 kbps, that needs to be changed to 128 kbps.

The sampling rate of your file is 48,000 Hz, we need that to be changed to 44,100 Hz.

The background noise is a little high at 52.8 dB. You will need to do some Noise Reduction, and here is a link that will tell you how to do that.

The volume is currently 87.8 dB, which is within the range. I am just letting you know so that you don't go too much lower than that.

Try these fixes, then upload a new file, using the same file name, then you can post it either here, or in the Listeners Wanted forum.

Hello! I'm new to LibriVox, and I would like to claim Chapter 13 New Relations. I would like to be listed as Vesk in the catalogue. I'll be recording my one minute test as soon as I can!

Almost! The sampling rate is still at 48,000 Hz, which needs to be 44,100 Hz. The other issues are taken care of! One more time, just to get that sampling rate, please.

And, you already have chapter 4 assigned to you!

This is the link. I think I changed the sampling hertz to 44100 using audio converter.

It is still 48000. Which recording program are you using? If you are using Audacity, you need to click the down arrow on the left side of the recording, it should say test_vivianlyu next to that arrow. At the bottom of the drop down menu, hover your curser on Rate. The next menu will have a bunch of numbers, click 44100 so that the circle is black next to it. Then, Export just like before and upload that file. You are very close!
