PL OK!

I was curious; I thought this volume would end with her death, but it doesn't appear so. (Does it end with the death of James?) I looked at the text for volume 10; Mary Beatrice takes up fully half of that volume as well! I think she has fully as much written about her as Elizabeth I and has more written than for Mary I!

Thanks Tricia!

I thought the same thing, but then I jumped ahead to check out the last three volumes and found what you found. I have already read the rest of chapter 8, so I can say that this volume ends with the death of James. I have a feeling that Mary Beatrice will be involved in her son's adventures in the next volume, because I think he does try to get his inheritance back. I am dying to know what James' daughters' excuses are, that should be interesting!

28 PL OK!

I understand the emotional reasons for wanting James's son to be the successor, and the fact that he's the only living, legitimate son gives him claim, but if we leave the gender issue aside, Anne would be the next in line after James's death. :hmm:

Technically, yes, that is true! But then, they didn't change that law until Princess Charlotte was born a few years ago, so that she would not be knocked out of line.

Thanks Tricia!

Hmm. Do I wait to PL these until late late late on New Year's Eve, to try to up my chances at the Guess the 2020 Project Count contest?

Nah, I must play fair. :)

However, Hubby is taking up more of my attention than usual, so I'm not 100% sure when I'll get to these. It should be in the next day or two. :)

No worries! I have a feeling that I will be cataloging a bunch of projects in the next few days, and I wanted to get this off my plate whether it is cataloged today or next week! I won't win this contest, that is for sure!

Do I post that they're PL OK and that the project is ready for cataloging, or do I just mark them that way in the MW and see how long it takes you to notice?

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-lives-of-the-queens-of-england-volume-9-by-agnes-strickland/

Thank you so much, Tricia! I really appreciate all your hard work! I will let you know when I start volume 10, I need to finish up another series, then I will come back to this one. I am really curious to see what Mary and Anne's excuses are, what they did to their father was not right.

Pamela Nagami read a book, "The Age of Anne". I have been wanting to listen to that in conjunction with this series. I wonder if it goes into her excuses at all.
