Celebrated Travels and Travellers Part I. The Exploration of the World by Jules Verne (1828 - 1905). Translated by Dora Leigh ( - 0)

(to be added later) ( Piotr Nater)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/24777
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

    Magic Window:

I realize this has been recorded before. In fact, I took part in the recording of volumes 2 and 3  But I'll try and record this one anyway. (because discoveries 8-) ) The number of sections I gave is the number used in version 1. I may revise it afterwards.

Welcome onboard, Leni :)
With the previous three solos I managed to maintain a nice, steady pace, finishing them quite fast. Let's see if I manage to do the same with this one. I've already recorded one section. Now to editing....

:) Super. I'm looking forward to this one - I've got it charted in my notebook.

P.S. (don't forget to take the tilde off the main subject line)

Chapter 1 has been uploaded. I've gotten to editing it today.
I have an idea to skip the enumeration part before the start of the chapters (approx. 0:30-1:30 in this one). It basically just serves as an abstract... Tell me what you think.

Sorry for the delay here, everybody! You are added to the project, and should have access to the window now. I am moving this project to Going Solo.

This is a very nice recording, which has no problems in it.

I think you're right about leaving out the enumeration bits at the opening of chapters. They're monotonous, and rather like little tables of contents, which we don't read, either.

Let me know if you decide to take that bit out, and I'll spot check right away.
