I think the General of Ellebubu would be best, actually. I'm hoping for a male voice for the Emir, if possible.

I'll try to get back to Dab-Dab and the first narration file this evening, but I'm out of computer time now!

chuckconvr wrote: September 7th, 2019, 1:24 pm Well dang it all. I never noticed. Not sure I got them all, but here is another go.

https://librivox.org/uploads/kathrinee/drdolittlespostoffice_thecaptain_01_128kb.mp3 @ 3:26.8

A bit longer than the first one. I went back to the raw files and re-encoded, etc.

Chuck
Thanks Chuck! The Captain is now PL OK! I loved his characterisation - can I tempt you to take any other parts?

If you can cope with a fairly long read, there's Golden Jay Leader who tells the story of the discovery of America?
Or for smaller parts there's all the warriors of Sections 12 and 13, there's a chief, his son and the general of the opposing tribe?
Or for just a one-liner there's the villain Jack Wilkins who just says “Move an inch and you're a dead man!”
I'll take a look and review those when I get back from my business trip. I might be willing to do another small one. <Grin>

I think that's the first time I've recorded that much stuff and had it all PL OK. Score! :P

Should I read this with an African accent or just use my regular voice?

It's your decision, really. I'll never ask someone to use an accent they're not comfortable with. (It never sounds good anyway.) But if you are comfortable with it, and think it would add to your character, then feel free! You can play your character however you think is appropriate. :D

Here is Jack Wilkins. As there was but a single line, I include 3 versions to choose from.

Here are the 2 files for Chief Nyum-Nyum.

General of Ellebubu is ready; duration 0:37

Lola
The General is all PL OK, but could you please read us the "crowd" lines as well? We'd like to get a crowd sound, so everyone can read for the pale orange lines. Even if you only read the line "Magic! Don't let his eye fall on you!" That would be great - just stick it in at the end of this file.
