Hi! This newbie has posted two tests:
https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/jacklohrprueba.mp3
https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/jacklohrtest.mp3
I'm using Audacity 2.3.0 on Windows 10 PC, with a Yeti Blue USB microphone.
I'd appreciate any Spanish-speakers' advice on whether the accent qualifies.

hi Jack, welcome to LibriVox :)

thanks for the test. I am not a native speaker of Spanish, but to me it sounded fine. I think as long as you articulate well so it is understandable, and that you know the basic pronunciation rules for any language you want to try out, then the recording will be acceptable.

Technical settings are all ok and the volume is inside our accepted limits. The only thing you may want to consider is a bit of noise-cleaning at the end of your editing process. BlueYeti is a great mic (I have the same :9: ) but it does pick up all the noise as well. But in Audacity there is a great noise-cleaning function, which is easy to handle.

If you wish you can try it out:

> select a small portion where you don't speak (usually at the end of your file)
> go to Effect - Noise Reduction
> first select Get Noise Profile
> then highlight the entire recording
> again Effect - Noise Reduction
> now select OK

But I will mark the test OK, because I think it's good enough to pass the test. You can post your correction in this same thread if you want to have another feedback, but you're good to go.

Have fun !

Sonia

Thanks for the feedback, Sonia!
I know how to do noise reduction on Audacity. (I've been using the program for years.)
I'm excited to get started!
