Hello,

I know normally you should ask before being accepted for an audio recording of a Section, but I wanted to claim Section 44. I have attempted the audio recording and hope this finds your approval. Please review recording for Section 44: https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/animalstorybook_44_various_128kb.mp3 Time: 06:13

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Kind regards,
Chad

I would like to read 24 and 33.

Thanks, Marilyn
Thank you! Before I can mark you down as claiming these sections, I have to mark how you want be identified in the catalog. Do you want to be known by your real name, pseudonym, or forum username?

I’ll pop over and take a look at your 1 minute test tomorrow when I have time :)
Hi Elsie,
My forum name is fine to use.
Thanks, Marilyn :)
It seems lymiewithpurpose has already been by with their suggestions for your one minute test. I will put you into the MW.

lymiewithpurpose was kind enough to comment on your one minute test. Before I can enter your claims into the magic window, how do you want to be credited in the catalog (forum username, real name, pseudonym)?

Just a few PL notes:

3:31 the microphone is bumped - could you cut out that noise or rerecord that little section?

The volume is a little too low for our requirements. Right now, your recording is 79 dB and LibriVox requires that it be in the range of 86-92 dB. You can easily fix this by going to the effect menu in Audacity. Under the effect menu, there is the option of Amplify. This should fix the issue. If you get a buzzing noise in the background, you can use noise reduction which is also under the effect menu (You should select a piece of audio that is just the buzzing background noise and then hit noise reduction, then "get noise profile". Then, you select the entire track and hit noise reduction and then OK).

You can check for yourself how loud or soft your audio is using the Checker program: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker

Otherwise, you did a great job for your first try! :D

Aww that section is really sad - but it could be kind of funny if you weren't expecting it :)

Section 56 PL OK
