A scientific and practical treatise on American football for schools and colleges by Henry L. Williams (1842 - ?) and others.

Volunteers outside the USA: Amos Alonzo Stagg died in 1965. The author's work is still protected by copyright in places like Europe, where copyright is author's death plus 70 years, and Australia (author's death plus 70 years for authors who died after 1955), unless the rule of shorter term applies.
Ever wondered how football has changed over the years? Look no further! This selection of rules, positions, and explanations of how football was played in the late 1800s is sure to leave you with a greater knowledge of the evolution of the sport. ( Campbell Schelp)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/scientificpracti00stagiala/page/n5
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

You don't have to help yourself; record all you want before you get a DPL. 8-)

I'm thinking about DPL'ing, but I'm going to wait until my plate gets cleared off a bit. If you don't have one by April, I'll jump in.

Thank you! And I know I don't have to wait for a DPL, it's just there's some recordings I want to finish for clean up month... just had to indulge and read a little bit of this one !

Chapter 1 is up!

I went through and broke up a really long sections into a few shorter ones. There are a few longer sections I may decide to split up later, I just don't know how long they're going to take me yet :D

Great! Have you had the fun of posting an ad in Listeners Wanted yet? You could do it any time, if you like. I'm also happy to do it for you. There's a prooflistening template in one of the stickies at the top of that forum (in case you haven't seen it before).
