My recommended, since this will be around for posterity, is to relax, practice a couple times and record the two songs when K's not in the house. ;)
They're that bad, huh? :P

Not THAT bad. But .. okay a couple spots made me wince... but I've had that on other reader/singers as well. Since there is opportunity to do better, why not? If the file had already been catalogued I wouldn't have said a word. 0:-)

By the way, our pastor preached for 35:43 today (including the prayer at the end of the sermon), so Effie would have been OK with it.

Yeah, coming back a few hours later and listening to the songs, I agree with you, especially that 2nd one. Cringe-worthy.

Hopefully they're both better now. If you don't want to listen to the whole chapter again, the songs are at about 13:45 and 16:20.

And chapter 14 is uploading now. No singing.

I should really go to the gym. Haven't been in a couple weeks. Here I go!!!

Oops, I keep listening to these files and forgetting until the next day to ok them.

I loved that line (in 16) about the "car" ride being so bumpy that it felt like driving over an entire blacksmith shop.

Chapters 19 & 20 PL OK

I got all excited when I looked in my project folder and saw two chapters. When I started to download them I noticed they were the two I did the other day and, once again, forgot to OK.
So now I need more chapters.

21 up now, 22 uploading as I type.

I found out how old she is! 65. Her voice is way too creaky for a 65-year-old.

Next chapter adds in Solomon's voice. Wonder what I'll do for that. :hmm:

Your portrayal of her voice is not too creaky for the era in which it was written. So no problem.
Solomon hmmm... old but firm... somehow. ;) Hope you don't have to do his a whole lot because that sounds like a challenge.

One more chapter up. :)

I went with a kind of airy voice for Solomon.
