I thought it was perhaps trouble because he let others take care of his business without his attention. THAT is in so many of the older books as well. But, then, I did wonder that it took him away... guess I thought he went away from the house. Maybe I need to listen to that part again to get it clear in my mind.

Okay, I listened again and see how I thought that.... doors opened and closed.... a summons came for him... and he went.

Chapter 17 is uploading now. Along the same lines as that ambiguity about where he went:

In the second sentence: "Mr. Mackenzie was hours away" - makes it sound like he went on a trip! Why can't she say, "Mr. Mackenzie was away for hours"? If we didn't have a policy against changing the text, I'd be tempted to make this more understandable.

Yes, I would take him being hours away to be he left town... But I won't get to hear it for myself unless it does actually upload. At 7:45 my time it's still not available.
