I'm a recently retired Asst. Professor of Nursing with a very broad
background in a variety of subjects, which reflects what has been an
eclectic approach to work, work environments and life in general. Briefly, in
addition to some 13+ years as an RN (ICU) which included the last five
years focused on teaching rather than practice on the floor, I had 15+
years as a software engineer, 10+ years in construction as a carpenter
and building contractor, a lifetime love of photography, some experience
as a videographer, and a couple of years as a video blogger on health
topics. Outside of work, I trained for 10 years as vocalist (according to my
voice teacher, I'm a heldentenor), and also was a cast member in a
number of community theater musical productions.

Having now discovered LibriVox, I'm interested in participating as a narrator and Listener.

Welcome to LibriVox. We're happy to have you.

The first thing to do is to record and upload your one-minute test. Secondly, we use a programme called Checker to make sure that our technical features are good to go before we upload the file for proof listening.

Once you get the OK, you will be ready to record.

I had already looked at the requirements; downloaded and installed checker - ran it against one of my ACX files to see the result - success!
I will record and upload the test file today; I am eager to get started.
