LibriVox and Wikipedia Links (Discussion, History, Policy, General questions)
The 2 Google spreadsheets linked below are an update to the previous method of tracking links from LibriVox to Wikipedia and from Wikipedia to LibriVox.
Ekzemplaro (Masa San ) was maintaining a single database/spreadsheet of LibriVox and Wikipedia information commonly referred to as Ekzemplaro's list. Ekzemplaro's list was last updated in October of 2016 and only he was able access to edit the list. Information from Ekzemplaro's database was included in the new lists. These spreadsheets have a new format with Yes/No columns and edit access is shared by a few volunteers. The information contained in these lists is a useful "work in progress".
Mahne automated the online date columns and transclusions lists (which show information on links from Wikipedia to Librivox); the transclusion checks wiki pages against the main sheet. When you download a copy of either of the lists the automated functions may not work properly due to differences in software. You can still search, sort, and filter the rest of the information even when the automated functions produce error messages in specific spreadsheet cells.

Zoom tutorial on how to create Wikipedia Links
Background: LibriVox catalog pages and Wikipedia pages both have a place and specific way to link authors and books to each other. There will not always be a match to link between LibriVox and Wikipedia pages. If you see an interesting topic on Wikipedia and then find a reliable public domain source on the topic, please record it on LibriVox. In 2005 there was a problem with just adding a lot of links and pages to Wikipedia (see About Wikipedia & LibriVox links ).
February 2015, TimoleonWash re-started discussion concerning Librivox and Wikipedia links (see this forum topic Any interest in LibriVox's representation on wikipedia? ). March 2015, TimoleonWash posted, "This linkage from wikipedia to LibriVox has been discussed on earlier LibriVox threads and is now at the point of a viable project. ... In fact, LibriVoxers have permission from wikipedia to link every book possible." (see Project: Link Wikipedia pages to LibriVox recordings ).
Librivox catalog pages: Only Librivox admins can add these links. Please post information about Wikipedia links on Librivox pages in this forum topic.
Wikipedia pages: Some Wikipedia are Open for everyone to edit, others are locked and require a login and access to edit. An experienced Wikipedia editor, ( Green Cardamom ) and TimoleonWash worked together to establish specific templates for LibriVox.
Wikipedia Templates:
Wikipedia's LibriVox Book template: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Librivox_book
Wikipedia's LibriVox Author template: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Librivox_author
German Wikipedia templates: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vorlage:Librivox_Buch
Spanish Wikipedia templates: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plantilla_librivox
For coordinating and communicating work on links between Librivox and Wikipedia, please post in LibriVox and Wikipedia Links (Working Thread),
If you have a suggestion, more information, or a question, please post a reply in this thread.

The templates you mentioned are for editing Wikipedia pages by adding a link to search LibriVox for projects with the matching title. If you register with Wikipedia you can edit their pages.
LibriVox MC‘S add the links on LibriVox pages that point to Wikipedia. If you find a LibriVox page that is missing a Wikipedia link you can post in the thread and it will get added.

You can check here, is an explanation on how to create the links for books and authors:
https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plantilla_librivox
And also I added the link in the spanish wikipedia page about librivox, on the paragraf "véase también"
https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/LibriVox#V%C3%A9ase_tambi%C3%A9n
I hope this was what we were looking for

David,
I see that some french book are noticed as linked but it is not a LibriVox link. It's a french association which also produces free audiobooks with volonteers.
For exemple : ID2209 https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_Chapdelaine
Il will also check french link in database and add LibriVox. I just did here : ID6435 https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madame_Bovary
Thanks to google translation because my english needs to be refreshed.

I see the link : ID6435 https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madame_Bovary (( Google sheet updated ))
I would recommend making it a separate line on the Wikipedia page with the Audio icon at the beginning of the line. With 2 links on one line they look to be from the same organization until you highlight them.
I do not see the link in under the Liens externes heading : ID2209 https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_Chapdelaine

David,
OK for a separate line ID6435 https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madame_Bovary (( Google sheet updated ))
Now, it is done : ID2209 https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_Chapdelaine

I am confused. I don't see a link to Librivox on either of these.

Someone has reverted the added links, arguing that they violate external link policy of fr-wiki. I'm mainly active on en-wiki, where that's obviously not the case, but I don't believe that's the case on fr-wiki either. I've joined an exchange on their talk page to try to get them to reconsider.

Hi all,
I have a Wikipedia account and am an active editor, but I am a novice and I get corrected everytime I do something there. However, if anyone knows what needs to be done and wants to point me to the place where it needs to be done, I'm happy to do it. Let's leave it at that for now.
Best wishes,
Lori

Are you a Wikipedia editor?
I'm looking for help creating a Wikipedia article (my first time contributing anything to Wikipedia) for the author of the book that I'm finishing up so the LibriVox/Archive listing will link to the Wikipedia article.
Currently, my Wikipedia article is titled, "Draft:Arthur Albert St. Mouritz". I edited Wikipedia articles that relate to his work (epidemics, influenza, Hawaii, etc.), and linked them to this new article. I submitted the article twice, got helpful suggestions each time, and am awaiting a response to my third submission.
I haven't figured out how to add the article to a category or navbox. Do you have any suggestions at all? I feel like I'm stumbling in the dark. Lots of guidance on the website, but much of it doesn't make sense to me.
Thanks
