May I do Sections 78, 79, 85?
seems like there was another rush-hour while I was sleeping
all right, so I forget nobody, let's start from the beginning:
Dickens was in Pompeii...that sounds interesting.

thank you, Ava. They're all yours.

thank you Devorah for taking one of the philosophers the parts are all very funny, I find. It would actually be cool to track down the whole play and do it.mightyfelix wrote: ↑August 26th, 2018, 4:53 pm I'll take 48 and 72, to start. Still looking at the drama roles available.
Edit: and 74, please.
I'd be happy to read Iphigenia. And I'll read Heraclitus as well. And I'm done for now.
And for details on how to read the voice credits, look here: viewtopic.php?p=1499738#p1499738
I'll sign you up for them all.
Sonia
thanks for relinquishing Iphigenia to Devorah, but you didn't have to feel like you would "hog" anything, TJ.

Here's Diogenes, the Feral Philosopher, the character's voice-characterisation being informed by Sandra's Second Customer preceding line: "I'm afraid of him, he looks so savage and sulky; perhaps he'll bark if I go near him, or even bite me, I shouldn't wonder."

oh, hey Jo great to have you with us again. The historical notes are very short sections, so I don't mind if you take this bunch. I know you won't be overburdened by it.knotyouraveragejo wrote: ↑August 26th, 2018, 5:02 pm Happy to pick up the rest of the "historical notes" again.
They are sections 15, 19, 27, 32, 36, 44, 49, 63, 68, 75, 83, & 88. If that's too many to claim at once, just give me as many as you think is reasonable.
thanks
Sonia
thank you, Angelique, for taking part in this book as wellBurgundyGrace wrote: ↑August 26th, 2018, 5:31 pm I would like to record
26 The Death of Socrates
and
46 How Cininnatus saved the counsul, please.
I'll happily assign you Section 46, but 26 had been claimed by Availle a bit before your claim, so assigned that section to her. Sorry about that.
Sonia
wonderful to have you reading in this book as well thank you, storygirl !

oho, our first Philosopher has arrived. Thank you, Chris, I'm really looking forward to that one. But first: breakfast. I fear I need it for DiogenesSonOfTheExiles wrote: ↑August 27th, 2018, 1:27 am Here's Diogenes, the Feral Philosopher, the character's voice-characterisation being informed by Sandra's Second Customer preceding line: "I'm afraid of him, he looks so savage and sulky; perhaps he'll bark if I go near him, or even bite me, I shouldn't wonder."

all right, I had a listen to Diogenes. It's the Colonel all over again. He sounds like he has rabies or some such No wonder the customer is afraid of him. It's not really the picture we nowadays have of our ordinary philosopher but then again, Diogenes wasn't ordinary, he was living in a vat after all if rumour is to be believed.SonOfTheExiles wrote: ↑August 27th, 2018, 1:27 amHere's Diogenes, the Feral Philosopher, the character's voice-characterisation being informed by Sandra's Second Customer preceding line: "I'm afraid of him, he looks so savage and sulky; perhaps he'll bark if I go near him, or even bite me, I shouldn't wonder."

yay, Jim, I'm happy to have you in this book as well. And thanks for claiming so many sections.
I suppose you wouldn't mind PLing my sections this time again ?
As for the mini drama, I remember you offered to take a small role as well. So could I propose the philosopher Democritus for you ? He only appears on page 216 with a few lines and seems a bit of mean cynic. Let me know if that is ok with you

Aww, thanks. Don't want to get ahead of myself -- I still have a ton of editing to finish.
Anyway, I'm a big fan of Devorah's voice art... I'm also a big fan of your acting/editing/PLing skills, Sonia!
