Hi Ian,
Your two stories are PL OK. I enjoyed them!
We do have to describe diagrams and tables sometimes in the math and science books, so it should be okay to give a brief description . The figures look like the same sort of thing.
The Undersea Tube is Hansen's first story for Librivox.
Have a good night!
Amy :D

Hi,
Those two stories are perfect for this collection. There is no need to pre-claim. Just submit them when they are ready.
Have fun!
Amy

I found it in Gutenberg, but please include a link to your source when you submit a story going forward.
I will PL soon.
Thanks!

I'm not sure of the best place to post this, since the multi-lingual forum for short collections appears to have been inactive since 2014. I am new to LibriVox, and am interested in recording the public domain works of H.P. Lovecraft in Spanish. But, I'm wondering whether the translated works could still be considered public domain, since somebody obviously had to do a translation. Could anyone give me some guidance on submitting translated works, and how I can verify whether or not they are considered public domain? Thank you!

Hi Fatima,
You are right. It depends on the copyright status of the translation. I don't know if there are any from 1922 or earlier.

Typically Lovecraft's works are available for free online in French and Spanish, both on various websites and in PDF format, and the translator is usually not credited. Many of the translations are of very high quality. My concern is: Is an uncredited translation that is widely distributed for free online the same as being in the public domain? Or is it literally necessary to find a translation that was provably done prior to 1922 in order to qualify for inclusion in the LibriVox catalog?
