How did it get so late so soon?
It’s night before it’s afternoon.
December is here before it’s June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get so late so soon?

Hi, Sara!

You would be most welcome. We do, however, request that all new readers first complete a one-minute preliminary test recording, just to check specification and set up. Please look under Point 2 in the initial post in this forum thread and click on the link for Newbie Guide to Recording. You will find there the information you need for doing that test recording -- a long with a lot of other useful information. Once you have posted that recording and received on "OK" post again here and we'll get you started. In the meantime, I'll reserve this section for you for a week.

Let me know if you have any questions about this.

Hi! An update on wanting to record for Expo of AC: I have uploaded my test, would you mind giving me some feedback? My test is the only post when SaraTolva is searched (oops not sure how to provide the link). I would very much appreciate this and am still interested in recording for your project.

Thank you so much!

Well, I'm not the one to give the official "OK"
I'm not sure what tovarisch means by the zip file. I download from you link, and it plays as an .mp3 file for me.
(Click on your name in the post heading and it will take you to your profile where you can also see all of your posts, and follow them to that thread, which is what I did.)

There are several technical issues, though.

First, you exported as a stereo file, and all LV recordings must be mono.
Second, the bit rate is incorrect. All LV files must be 128kbs and yours is 192kbs.

You are right; there is a noticeable background hum that could easily be reduced.
Also, a bit too much reverb, but still within acceptable limits.
I don't know anything at all about Garage Band, so have no advice on adjusting your settings.

Your reading itself is just fine, and I look forward to adding your voice to LibriVox!!

Make the adjustments to your recording. But you should post a new file to the thread you started with your initial test.

BTW, I did all of this with a little program written for LV called "Checke." You may find it useful, so here's the link: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Checker

Oh, it looks as if I forgot to put these in the MW, but it is updated now.
I've PM'd the claim for Section 14. If I don't hear back next week, I'll release it.
Would you like it?
