Interestingly, this is a different interpretation of the opera from the one we staged. Offenbach didn't actually finish it, so the ending of the opera is rather in doubt - but in our version it was presented as a struggle between love and poetry. After being unsuccessful in love, in our version Hoffmann decides for forswear love and from now on be a poet (and cue the final drinking song...)

Strangely, this is the version I was familiar with. After your comment I was hoping for yet a different one. Oh well, maybe next time.

Put me down for the whole of the Ring Cycle - this is as close as I plan to get to hearing it all! Sections 46-49.

Above is the link for the (hopefully) proper file for Section 5, I Puritani. “Bellini” has been added to the intro, and the ending silence should now actually be silent. File length is 11:15

Checker flagged the recording for a moderate level of background noise but I didn't hear anything. I figured you might want to know is all.

We are now 25% complete.
