[COMPLETE] The Pink Shop by Fergus Hume-ans
sect 21
PL note: tech issue
Low volume of 83.4 dB this falls outside of the LV target range (86–92 dB)
Hi Sudeshna,
You have some plosives, you do not have to redo anything, but I did some research here at LV that might be helpful.
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Improve_Your_Recording#Plosives:_popping_P.27s
These are some of the suggestions that I've found:
Speaking closer to the mic also introduces plosives, which is the rush of breath you hear when you say the word "pop". To counteract this turn the mic just at a slight angle so you're still talking directly into it but it's not sitting right in front of your mouth. Hope that helps people.
Things known of to help avoid them: A little more distance between mouth and mic (although you don't want to be too far away, because then you lose quality of voice and gain more background noise); having your mouth at an angle to the mic instead of straight on (either to a side a bit, or mic slightly lower than mouth); a pop filter for the mic.

Early on in my LV life someone told me a way of finding a spot 'plosive free. Blow out a steady stream of air and move your finger across your mouth, the microphone needs to be where you can not feel the air on your finger.

Thank you for sharing these details. I'll surely keep them in mind next time onwards. Do let me know if I should work on using the "amplify" feature from audacity to bring up the volume and re-post the file.

I've used the amplify feature and have posted the file again. Do let me know if this is fine.

I've managed to check and fix the remaining sections - the missing intro was very very low, but amplified well enough to be OK , and on checking the text the missing words didn't affect the overall meaning so I'll start the validation process.
