annise wrote: March 24th, 2024, 3:54 pm It looks good - the only problem with the pdf is we need to know the image source on the PDF - the cover picture part of the pdf needs to be your source - in most cases we design the cover using someone else's image and so we need to know who made the original or what book or painting it was - images can still have a copyright.

Thanks Anne, I resubmitted corrected files, as well as files for Beautiful Thoughts.

I'm not sure which format is best for that software.
The jpg logos work with paint shop pro. Probably if I restart the computer pngs will work too

Question: I have cover files ready for a book I am still recording. Should I go ahead and submit them or wait til I'm closer to being done :?:

Wait until the project is cataloged. We can't do anything with the covers until the Archive.org page is made during cataloging. The cover file would get lost in the forum here, and the file deleted out of the uploader, if it's uploaded too soon.

I take it you don't put the final run time on the PDF. :)

Yes, definitely. It's a scanned image from an old book, and the page clearly declares it's out of copyright. :)

There's a bug of some sort in Gimp, or else my computer suddenly is not able to handle its memory requirements. In a nutshell, I'm unable to do some fairly simple copy/pastes.

Would someone please do me a favor, and copy the top 50 pixels (or thereabouts) of this picture, full width, then fill in the image so it's 600 px tall, with the copied portion filling in the rest of the image (tiled, not stretched)?

Gimp does this with a Canvas Size function, where I copy the portion, then change the canvas size and tell it to fill it in with the pattern I copied. But since the program crashes when I try to copy the pattern, I can't do it.

Then upload it back to the Covers folder using the same zip file name?

I'd appreciate it!

I'd be glad to help but I have no idea how to do that in the old Photoshop 6 that I use. I think Mark Nelson has a way of doing that fill in thing.

I've been experimenting with something I added to Paintnet - but it works better sometimes than others - I'll have a go but will not be offended if you reject it

I know it won't be perfect - the bamboo or whatever won't line up perfectly. I'll work with that. :) Thanks!

Thanks for the offer/response, Michele. :)

Why is the link to this Covermakers Chat Thread so hard to find? The link to it doesn't seem to be listed anywhere but in the first paragraph of the Working Thread! Can it be added directly to the Volunteers Wanted: Other LibriVox Projects list, especially since it invites anyone to ask, thank, chat, provide hints, etc.

This Working Thread is for preclaiming and submitting covers. If you want to ask questions, thank a cover maker, chat or provide hints etc. please do so here: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=64062"
