Charbeli wrote:Hey! How are you? I am willing to help... Just a question, I read the thread and I didn't quite understand, so, May I read a new year's poem? Is it possible to read maybe a short story? And, could I look for something in Spanish - since it is my first language- and read it in Spanish?

Is the deathline on December 28th?
Hi, I'm doing great! Yes you're welcome to read a poem or short story! :D Although I highly recommend that you try to find something in English (the language most of the podcast is in), if you don't find anything you like in English you can submit a Spanish. Yes, the deadline is on December 28th. As long as you submit before the 29th, you're good. :)

Thanks, Kangaroo, count me in and I will look for something in English!
Thank you, just post here when you're finished! :)

Here is my contribution, as promised:
https://librivox.org/uploads/cori/communitypodcast_2712_sg_amen.mp3.

A short poem by Christina Rossetti on the ending of a year, it lasts just 1.18mins.
Hope it will add a little something to the mix....

Good luck with the compilation
Steve

Submissions for the podcast are closed for everything except group song entries. If you have an entry for the group song of Auld Lang Syne, please submit it today so I can edit it together tomorrow. Thanks :)

What's "tonight"? I've only been back home a short time and it's 11pm here.

Here's my recording. I only noticed your pronunciation guide when I was uploading. Didn't have time to correct "paidl't as piddled, pint-stowp as pint-shtop, lang as long", so I'm afraid you're going to have to chop mine around a bit if you use it. Don't worry if you can't, as I'm not too happy with my vocal range these days.

Sorry, I should have been more clear on that, tonight in the Eastern Time Zone, where it's only 6pm. Thank you for helping with the song! :)

Peter,

Did you sing this along to my recording in the first post? I believe this is in the wrong key, and a bit slower, but I think I can use Audacity's change pitch and change tempo settings if you don't mind me altering your recording a bit. :)

EDIT TO ADD - Or would you mind having it solo in another part of the podcast?
