PL OK Betty. By co-incidence, I was having a conversation yesterday about Geneva with several people who have lived in, or still visit, the city in its capacity as HQ of several UN organisations. Thanks to Librivox, I was able to contribute Mary Shelley and the genesis of Frankenstein there.
Best,
Barbara

Hello! Newly graduated and occasional Librivox contributor.
Excellent reading and your French is a pleasure to listen to!Kalynda wrote:Here's France, section 3 (22:12):

Notes:
mp3gain says the file is 87.6, which makes it softer than the other Sections in the project.
You have left a second and a half before the intro and almost 7 seconds after the outro.
Best,
Barbara

In the mind, or consciousness of the Earth this flower first lay latent as a dream. Perhaps, in her consciousness, it nested as that which in us corresponds to a little thought.--A.Blackwood
Unfortunately, lots of sounds of "clipping" now. Have a listen.Kalynda wrote:Thank you, Barbara ... here's the edited version (22:10)

Work on one of your original .aup files as clipping cannot be eradicated (the top of the wave has been chopped off and cannot be replaced). Then you could try Effect, Compressor on the .aup to get rid of the peaks which are causing the clipping. And then amplify or de-amplify the whole .aup to rougly 89dB before exporting it as an mp3.
Here's Phil's video on how to use Compressor:

Do you have the ReplayGain add-on to Audacity installed? Or mp3gain? They allow us to do quick checks of the effect of the, errr, Effects on the overall volume so that running repairs can be made.
I don't like telling you what to do as you are such a great and experienced reader but I have the same problem with peaks and had to learn to use Compressor. I hope this helps.
Best,
Barbara
