The M4B file of Sarah Orne Jewett's "The Country of the Pointed Firs" (https://archive.org/download/pointed_firs/CountryOfThePointedFirs_librivox.m4b) contains a chapter 6 "The Waiting Place" that is at so much lower a volume as to be matched by background noise. I was able to make out some of the words by turning the volume to the maximum on my player, but even then much of it was lost. The .mp3 file of the same chapter (http://www.archive.org/download/pointed_firs/country_of_pointed_firs_06_jewett.mp3) does not appear to have that problem. (I haven't listened to the whole book yet, so it's possible that other chapters have the same issue, but I can't say. Chapters 1-5 and 7 are OK.) BTW, because chapters 1 & 2 are on Track 1, Chapter 6 = Track 5. (I think I got that right.)

Thanks for identifying this. I will make a new M4B file today and replace the other one.

I have adjusted the volume for chapter 6 "The Waiting Place". A new M4B has been uploaded and linked from both the catalog and Archive pages (with a slightly different name so you can tell them apart).

I have downloaded a copy from the catalog page and will listen to that this weekend to see if everything turned out find.

I found another chapter later in the uploaded M4B that was hard to hear. I have adjusted that one and re-uploaded a new version of the M4B (same name).
