Ok, this one looks absolutely nuts:

The Deer-Smellers of Haunted Mountain (1921) by John J. Meyer
[The full title being "The deer-smellers of Haunted Mountain : the almost unbelievable experiences of a cerebroic hunter in the hills of this world and the lowlands of the universe with a gypsy-eyed spirit adventurer : humorously tattle-taled"
A comedic take on dystopian future war involving astral projection, firing countries off into space, a sinister hidden mountain base and all other manner of weirdness.

This short story has posted to Project Gutenberg.

This could be a fun one for the Short Sci-fi collection:
An Anachronism, or Missing One's Coach (1838) by Anonymous

This was one of the first published stories about time travel!

And another!
In the Deep of Time by George Parsons Lathrop

This novella was based on Thomas Edison's ideas of what the future would be like. There's a whole write-up on it here: https://www.oldphono.com/blog/35-thomas-edison-forgotten-sci-fi-novel

Taking a quick look at this one, it looks to be more horror than science fiction and is a collection of short stories, so could be read as a collection, or cherry-picked for entries into short story collections.

My sources said SF with horror elements. I didn't try reading them. Yes, it should fit well with collections , as it is a collection. People should be able to pull single stories out for the regular collection projects as well.

It's mostly a horror collection but it does have one story that's pure sci-fi, "The Dump". A couple of other stories have elements of sci-fi too. I recorded the whole collection earlier this year. :D
