Hi Ruth
Unless my membership here has expired, could I read (from?) Kipling's 'France at War'
http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/12454
Please. I say from because I rather think the whole thing would be beyond your 70m time limit so perhaps only Ch 1 ('On the frontier of civilization') which would stand alone quite well.

Regards

Thrilled, Andy! So very pleased to see you. Old LibriVoxateers never expire... they only fade away. I was thinking of you and your ... er... Australian cousin only the other day!

Hi Ruthie, May I please read John McCrae's In Flanders Fields?

McCrae wrote some other great poems about war and peace, in this same volume. Would it be possible to add some of these into this file? I suppose I'm asking if your limit of three means three separate files? Could we put more than one poem in a file? I would be interested in doing some of Wilfrid Owen's poems, too. Part of the reason I ask about several poems in one file is that (in this case) most of McCrae's poems are short and the librivox disclaimer in separate files would be absolutely maddening--at least it is to me when I try to listen to some of our poetry collections. Whatever your policy, I would certainly like to do at least In Flanders Fields. Thanks

One poem per file, please David, so that they individually searchable. I'll put you down for In Flanders Fields to start with.

However, you make a good point about the disclaimer. I'm going to make my own rule for this collection: if your recording is of less than 5 minutes' duration, please use the short poetry disclaimer instead:

START: [Title] by [author], read for LibriVox.org by [your name].
END: End of [Title] by [author]. This recording is in the public domain.

I have amended the top post to that effect.

Thank you, Ernst :).

I am mulling over the idea of splitting this collection in two: one for poetry and one for non-fiction (including the letters from the front). I will see how it goes before deciding.
