Hello!
My name is Patrick McNeal. I'm a computer/network technician from Bakersfield, California.
I heard about LibriVox while listening to a podcast last week (can't remember which one), and loved the idea. I look forward to doing some reading as soon as I get over a cold and my voice returns to normal.
In the meantime, I will read the forums and listen to what's already here so I might have a clue when I do get started recording.

Welcome, Patrick! A great starting place for a new volunteer is either our Weekly Poem or our Short Poetry project -- Weekly Poem has its own thread, and Short Poetry is over in "Readers Wanted."

It's nice to test out your recording setup and get a some listener feedback on a 2-minute poem, and then jump into something a little lengthier. But of course that's up to you -- pick whatever sounds like fun and have a ball!
